PhilJets expands its operations with an acquisition of two brand new H130 helicopters

  Since its inception, three and half years ago, PhilJets, the aviation start-up is pursuing its growth and its objective to develop aerospace, aviation, and tourism in the Philippines while contributing its share to develop the country image and aviation standards. Over the years, PhilJets started to assert itself and gain credibility towards major market leaders and actors through strong partnerships, as with Jewelmer, Grab with the GrabHeli or more recently with Citibank for the launch of their Citi Prestige credit cards. PhilJets also set up a complete & diversified aviation strategy with strong connections not only with worldwide manufacturers but also with worldwide players. Thanks to the increased customer’s confidence, the company is growing and now aims at covering the whole archipelago. Indeed, before the year ends, PhilJets will welcome a new helicopter H130, previously ordered in January whose delivery is planned for October. This will be PhilJets’ 5th helicopter under its AOC fleet and its 4th Brand New H130 under operations. The company, has recently placed a new order for 2 additional H130 this September from Airbus Helicopters Southeast Asia, the subsidiary of Airbus Group. The H130 helicopter is one of the best on the market for corporate and tourism, as it is a lightweight helicopter tailored for passenger transportation, sightseeing, aerial survey as well as medical airlift. These helicopters will be operated by PhilJets Aero Charter Corp, the group air transport subsidiary, in order to sustain the company activities growth over the country. MANILA, Philippines – On-demand ride-hailing app company GrabTaxi on Tuesday, November 24 launched two new services in the Philippines: card payment option GrabPay and chopper service GrabHeli. GrabCar, which became the first ride-sharing app to accept cash transactions for rides, has added credit and debit cards to its payment options. Passengers of GrabCar, GrabCar+, and GrabHeli now have the option to pay with their credit or debit cards through GrabPay. “Now that we’ve established the brand, we want to be able to reach out to the credit card users and make the app accessible to virtually anyone with a smartphone,” Khriztina Lim, country head of Marketing for GrabTaxi Philippines, told reporters on the sidelines of a launch in Pasay City. To register, GrabTaxi passengers need to enter their credit or debit card details in the payment section of the settings, wait for approval, and when they book rides, they will be able to select the newest payment option. The company is now certificated to service commercially or privately operated aircraft in the Philippines. Thierry Tea, managing director of PhilJets Group said: “This new license represents another step forward for PhilJets in its goal to develop a nose-to-tail approach to Aviation services in the Philippines and for all its customers.” In parallel of this certification, PhilJets also renewed this year its AMDC license (Aircraft Material Distributor Certificate). The company wants to further expand its spare partsactivities around Asia & especially in the ASEAN area. PhilJets Group has recently taken delivery of a new Robinson R44 helicopter that will complement its two H130 (formerly EC130T2) and one AS350B2 helicopters.
