PhilJets eyes P60-million sales target this year

 

FRENCH-FILIPINO aviation solutions provider PhilJets Group is aiming to double its overall sales this year, expecting the tourism sector to bolster its chartering operations. “The targets are much higher this year, the target is set at between P50 million and P60 million,” said Boris Chevreau, marketing manager of PhilJets Group, to members of the media on Friday.

Chevreau said that since the company’s beginning in 2013, overall sales across its business units have been at P25 million and P30 million. This is in line with the company’s objective to strengthen its chartering business unit, PhilJets Aero Charter Corp., by focusing on tourism and leisure products. Currently, the company’s offered tours include Pinatubo, Manila, Corregidor, Taal,
Punta Fuego as destinations, with various tour inclusions for land transport.

“The Philippines has much to offer in sceneries but these are hard to reach, so our objective is to bring access to these places,” said Thierry Tea, managing director for PhilJets Group, commenting on its push for tourism services.

PhilJets’s operations consist of charter services, engineering and fleet management, aircraft sales and consultation, spare-parts sales, and representation of foreign firms.
Demand for its chartering services, which are divided into tourism and leisure services, VIP transport, and aerial work, comes from the sectors of mining, energy, materials industry, hotels and construction.

Chevreau said for the sales and distribution of its helicopters, they aim to sell five units this year, mostly to oil and gas companies, while for the chartering business, they expect to clock in between 200 and 500 flying hours through their services.

Last year the company notched 150 to 200 flying hours as the company leaned toward strengthening their front in leisure and travel, which translates to less flying hours as opposed to the aerial work for mining and transport sectors.
Between three and five helicopters are currently being managed and serviced by the company for its chartering business, which will grow from eight to 10 this year, Tea said.

The aviation-solutions firm also plans to increase its capacity, planning to build a third hangar in either Cebu or Davao. The firm is especially eager to tap the mining firms in Davao for aerial work such as geosysmic mapping.

PhilJets also manages the aircraft of private individuals for the fleet-management part of its portfolio, and currently services three units.

The PhilJets Group does consulting for Airbus Group and represents aircraft maintenance, repair and support company Skyways Technics. The group counts Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Lufthansa Technik and Dornier Technology as its clients for its range of services.
